New York
Our New York office proudly celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2023. Akin New York is home to the market’s leading lawyers and litigators with cutting-edge practices, mirroring the vitality and pace of the city. Our clients include investment funds, Fortune 500 companies and other global entities. We advise on complex transactions and disputes—in sectors spanning the range, from investment management to financial restructuring and beyond.
Innovation Is in Our DNA
Akin has always had an affinity for entrepreneurial clients, and our New York office is no exception. We advise groundbreaking private equity and hedge funds with billions of dollars under management, as well as fast-evolving Wall Street firms and Fortune 500 companies. Complexity and sophistication are the hallmarks of our practice, whether in transactions, litigation or financial restructuring.
Staying Put
Why do lawyers stay longer at Akin than at other New York firms? Our associates say it’s because they feel free to be themselves. Starting with firm Chairperson Kim Koopersmith, the office is filled with immensely talented people who are also warm, down-to-earth and approachable. We prioritize collaboration and are genuinely engaged in mentoring the next generation of Akin lawyers.
Location, Location, Location
Our midtown office at One Bryant Park is an easy commute from Manhattan, the boroughs, and the Long Island, Westchester and New Jersey suburbs. In the summer, you can enjoy the park’s al fresco dining, movies, yoga, board games and more. In the winter, you can lace up a pair of ice skates for some midday exercise or shop the famous holiday kiosks.
The offices work together seamlessly. Most second and third years have worked with at least one other Akin office.”
